Rental Advice

Planning a vacation is an exciting task but can also be a little stressful. Here are a few tips that will help you save on your rental car.

If you’re keen on saving, book the smallest car that will suit your needs. With rental cars size usually goes with price. If you’re travelling in a larger group don’t sacrifice the comfort of your holiday though by booking a car that’s just too small for everyone to easily fit in. At the rental desk you always have the opportunity to ask for an upgrade to a larger car.

Renting a GPS can be very handy but is usually also quite pricey (often around $15/day). If you have a satellite navigation device at home, take it with you and save on the additional rental fees.

Picking your car up directly at the airport can save you time and money in the long run. While airport hires sometimes have higher rates you are spared the trouble and cost of arranging transport from the airport to a depot located away from the terminal.

Price ranges may naturally vary from one company to another and depend on availability, location and timing. If you have the flexibility, shop around trying different dates or pick-up locations. Have a great holiday!
